County Durham jobseekers can learn how to make their CV stand out from the crowd at a free training session this month.
The workshop, organised by County Durham Housing Group, will be held on Wednesday, 28 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Bowburn Community Centre.
County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Officer, Claire Maddison, said: “Employers can see hundreds – sometimes thousands – of CVs, so it’s important to make yours stand out for the right reasons.
“One of the quickest ways to lose a job opportunity is to send a prospective employer a CV that has basic errors such as incorrect spellings or a bad layout.
“Our free informal workshop will help attendees to focus on their strengths, identify transferable skills, and look at the best layout for their CV.
“Anyone wanting to book a place or get further information should email employability@cdhg.co.uk or call us on 0191 349 7657.”
County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Team provides support to tenants of Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes to find a job, access training, gain apprenticeships and venture into self-employment.
