There promises to be something for everyone as a Family Fun Day to support the Mike Findley MND Fund gets underway in Marske.
Being held at Marske Hall, a Leonard Cheshire care home, on Saturday 25 June, the event promises a wide-range of things to see and do with a variety of craft stalls being complemented by climbing walls, bouncy castles and a penalty shootout event.
As well as activities, there is a selection of entertainments guaranteed to amuse with the Marske Silver Band and Irish Folk band Share the Darkness being joined by unicyclist and juggler Tom Rolfe.
Entrance to the event, which runs from 10.30am – 3.00pm, is free but there will be bucket collections for the fund throughout the day.
Cllr Mike Findley, who has organised a number of events to raise money for people – like him – that are suffering from Motor Neurone Disease, said: “This is the last big outside event we are organising and the money raised will be split between MND Research and the Teesside Hospice who do a lot for people suffering with MND and other neurological conditions.
“There is something for all the family young and not so young, the people of Redcar and Cleveland have given my MND Fund magnificent support over the years, which is much appreciated and long may it continue.”
Joining Cllr Findley at Marske Hall, on Redcar Road in Marske, will be the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland Cllr Barry Hunt.
Cllr Hunt said: “I am very pleased to be supporting my good friend Mike Findley as he continues his great work of raising money for people with MND, the money he’s raised already has helped countless numbers of people and I urge everyone to come down, donate to the fund and have fun.”
