Worcester Wolves have announced their latest signing as they welcome Adam Thoseby to their 2018-19 roster.
Thoseby was a standout performer for Team England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, averaging 14.5 points per game in the Gold Coast, despite an early exit in the competition.
Born in Melbourne, Thoseby moved back to the UK with his British mother from a young age where he was first introduced to basketball. He began playing for Reading Rockets in 2009-10 before moving to the States.
Thoseby enjoyed a four-year college career, starting at Utah State before a two-year spell at South Dakota before finishing at NCAA Division II school Georgia Southwestern State, averaging 15.3 points in his senior year.
After impressing in in the State leagues in Australia, Thoseby stepped up to the NBL with Sydney Kings last season and is also a former GB Under-20 international.
“England is the birthplace of my basketball career, so being able to come back and compete at the highest level in the UK is very exciting,” he said.
“I’m ready for this next challenge with the Wolves, and to bring back a title to the club. I can’t wait to get started.”
Managing Director, Mick Donovan added: “We are delighted to be introducing Adam to the BBL as a Worcester Wolves player and really believe that he is a significant signing for the club.
“He will certainly bring a different and exciting dimension to our team. He has shown that he is an exceptional shooter, yet also possesses many other strengths at both ends of the floor.”
Thoseby will join the Worcester Wolves as they prepare for their first game of the season against ex-coach Paul James’ side Plymouth Raiders on Friday 21 September at the University of Worcester Arena with tickets on sale now at www.worcesterwolves.org .
