A LEADING Newcastle restaurant is helping professionals power through the day with a new lunch offer.

The Union Rooms, at Westgate Road, has launched its Power Lunch menu, offering the city’s workers something different to the usual meal deal.

Dirty fries, battered goujons and even vegan pizza are just three of the featured dishes on offer at the city centre restaurant, priced at £6.50 each.

Pizza fans can choose three toppings from a vast list, including crumbled feta, BBQ jackfruit, pulled ham hock and pineapple, with either fior de latte or dairy free cheese.

And the new menu also features a range of fillings for diners to enjoy in either a wrap or brioche bun, including brekkie club, with sausage, hash brown, fried egg, beans, cheddar and ketchup, or pig pimpin, with slow cooked BBQ pulled pork and cheese sauce.

Or, diners with a preference for a healthier option can try the super fuel salad, packed full of quinoa, seeds and greens, with options to add extras such as flash fried Korean chilli beef, grilled halloumi or chargrilled chicken.

Stuart Young, of Cyclone Leisure, which owns the Union Rooms, believes the new menu has great appeal.

“Newcastle is a bustling place and the city’s professionals lead busy lives, so there isn’t always a lot of time to plan for lunch,” said Stuart.

“With that in mind we wanted to create a menu with plenty of choice, that is perfect for diners who want to make it a working lunch, as well as those who just wants to grab something to take back to the office.

“The new menu is fantastic value and we hope Newcastle professionals will be tempted to stop by and get a great deal.”

The Power Lunch menu is available Monday to Friday between 12pm and 5pm, with the choice of dining in or take away.
