This week children in the north east are enjoying free workshops at the region’s largest shopping centres.
Children are being kept entertained learning new skills to try out at home during the half term holidays, thanks to free workshops in everything from cooking to craftwork at intu Eldon Square & intu Metrocentre.
As part of intu’s mission to ‘make it amazing’ for families this half term, experts at the shopping centres are running a packed week of exciting events to help children pick up fun new skills and make something amazing with shows and workshops exploring different themes involving cookery, nature, puppet making and art & design.
Different activities are taking place at intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre throughout half-term, and full details can be found online at intu.co.uk/eldonsquare and intu.co.uk/metrocentre.
Neil Dilbo from Whickham, said: “It’s been an excellent day full of activities, and has certainly kept my daughter Lola entertained all afternoon. We’re loving the healthy snacks provided too!”
Dawn Douglas from Wallsend, added: “There are so many different activities to get involved in. We’ve loved coming to see the Metrognomes too – it’s a fantastic show, my daughter Millie’s loving every second!”
Karen Carr, regional marketing manager, intu north, said:
“We are helping families make the most of half term with the opportunity for children to leave our centres having made something amazing or picked up a new skill they’ll be looking forward to trying again at home.
“We’ve worked hard to put together a fun-packed set of activities that will put a smile on the face of all our customers and we can’t wait for them to see what we have in store.”
Activities are free, with no booking required and are open to all ages, but are particularly suitable for children in pre-school and early years.
The events on offer at intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre each day for the remainder of half-term are:
