North East law firm Hay & Kilner has further strengthened its private client team by bringing in experienced paralegal Emma Etherington.
Emma brings 15 years’ legal sector experience to the Newcastle-headquartered practice, having initially worked as a legal secretary before developing her career as a paralegal.
Emma, who is from Newcastle, is now responsible for managing her own caseload, drafting legal papers and working with other members of the private client team on behalf of a wide range of clients.
She says: “I was looking for a new challenge, and from the moment I walked through the door at Hay & Kilner, I felt right at home.
“It’s a busy department with a very varied workload, and I’m very much enjoying getting to know my new clients and colleagues.”
Established in 1946, Hay & Kilner is one of North East England’s leading independent law firms and provides a full range of legal services to businesses and individuals from both within and outside the region.
It was named as a ‘regional heavyweight’ in the latest edition of the Legal 500, with its services recommended by the legal sector ‘bible’ in 19 different practice areas.
Alison Hall, head of the private client department at Hay & Kilner Law Firm, adds: “Personal relationships are extremely important within private client work, and not only is Emma a very technically capable paralegal, she also has a very warm personality, genuinely cares for the people with whom she’s working and goes well beyond what’s usually expected of someone in her role.
“Increasing the paralegal resources we have available means we can provide our private client services even more efficiently, and Emma is already proving to be an excellent fit within our close-knit team.”
