HENS ‘OVERTAKING’ STAGS ON RACE TRACK ACTION

  • Hens now booking as many supercar driving experiences as stags
  • TrackDays.co.uk reveals huge increase from hen parties in last year
  • I do, I do, I do…fast Ferraris and hens are match made in heaven as wedding season approaches

Brides-to-be are increasingly opting for life in the fast lane as new research from TrackDays.co.uk shows they are now receiving as many bookings for supercar driving experiences from hen parties as stag dos.

The leading provider of driving experiences confirms that while historically they received more supercar bookings for male stag parties, this is now fast changing as hens also want to experience the thrill of driving powerful machines including Ferraris, Lamborghinis or McLarens around such race circuits as Silverstone and Brands Hatch.

Indeed, www.trackdays.co.uk reveals that it saw a 65 per cent increase in bookings for hen parties over the last year and while it does provide a wide variety of experiences, it is consistently the supercar action that is the most popular choice for hens.

Imran Malek, operations manager at TrackDays.co.uk, said: “Supercar driving experiences are becoming increasingly popular with hens looking for adrenalin fuelled action in cars that can reach 200mph or more.

“We’ve seen a huge surge over the last year especially in hen party bookings and we now receive as many as we do for stag parties, which we always received more of in the past.”

The increase in track day action by staying at home in the UK also follows the trend of hens and stags looking for alternatives to lavish overseas frivolities, which some estimates put at £1,000 per person.

Meanwhile, the growth in supercar driving experiences in particular is also a reflection of the boom in the gift experience market, which is one of the fastest growing segments of the gift industry.

Imran added: “As the 2019 wedding season fast approaches I would not be surprised to see more hen do bookings than stag do bookings for the first time this year.

“It would appear that hens have had enough of stags enjoying all the track day action and now also see it as the perfect way to celebrate before the big day.”
