North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Join the big switch for fair energy

TimIn their continued mission to see all households in the North of England able to access fairly priced gas and electricity, Future Energy has negotiated to deliver the cheapest energy tariff that’s been available in the region for over five years, with The Big British Switch.

Future Energy, an energy supplier located in the North East of England, has been exclusively selected by The Big British Switch – an initiative that aims to help as many people as possible get the best possible energy deal – based on the low tariff.

Tim Cantle-Jones, CEO and founder of Future Energy, said: “Switching energy suppliers is one of the easiest ways to save money. By teaming up with the Big British Switch we’re turning up the power to the people by providing the cheapest energy deal available since 2011.”

Guy Thompson, Big British Switch, said: “Our main aim is to help consumers get a cheaper deal on their energy and we carefully select our suppliers using an independent, rigorous process.

“Every energy supplier in the UK had the opportunity to apply and Future Energy was the clear winner. As well as providing fairly-priced energy, we also love that the company is a locally-based, customer-friendly antidote to the increasingly remote and over-large suppliers, whose behaviour has lost them the trust of many users.”

The move comes after the findings from the Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA’s) investigation suggested that customers are not getting a good deal from the big energy suppliers. By most industry estimates, around 70% of customers with the big energy firms are on their supplier’s default tariff and could save more than £300 a year by switching.

Mr Cantle-Jones concluded: “We’re working hard to help North East families by offering cheaper prices and better service and most customers who switch to us have saved over £300 on their annual energy bills.”

Those who wish to sign up to the initiative should go to www.thebigbritishswitch.co.uk where they will need to enter their postcode and confirm their email address. There is no obligation whatsoever to switch. The initiative runs from 4 July to 22 July inclusive and is available to householders across the North East and Yorkshire.
