This Easter, egg-cited children will have the opportunity to meet SpongeBob SquarePants, the ocean’s funniest sponge, and dive into the underwater world of Bikini Bottom for fun and laughter at both intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square.
In partnership with Nickelodeon, intu, owners of prime regional shopping centres across the UK, will be hosting a SpongeBob SquarePants Laughter Party at intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square over the Easter holidays. Get ready to laugh your pants off with a range of family friendly activities that are not to be missed!
Visitors will be able to dive into SpongeBob SquarePants’ world of Bikini Bottom, to join the ultimate sea-bed laughter party, packed with interactive fun and games including a Limbo Challenge, Hysterical Prank classes, Musical Pant bumps and much more! Activities are free, with no booking required and are open to all ages, but are particularly suitable for children in pre-school and early years. There’s even a competition to win a family break to Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach!
Karen Carr, regional marketing manager for intu, North, said:
“SpongeBob SquarePants certainly brings laughter with him wherever he goes, and we can’t wait to meet him and enjoy all of the free fun activities that he will be bringing to intu Eldon Square and intu Metrocentre during the Easter holidays, and to meeting him in person when he visits on 29 March (intu Eldon Square) and 5 April (intu Metrocentre). It will be necessary to book a slot if children would like to meet SpongeBob SquarePants, and families can pick up free wristbands in advance from the Customer Service Desk near Debenhams at intu Eldon Square, from Saturday 19 March, and the Here to Help Lounge in the lower Blue Mall at intu Metrocentre (from Saturday 26 March). There’s going to be a lot of giggling when SpongeBob comes to visit!”
Trevor Pereira, commercial and digital director of intu, commented:
“During the Easter break it can be difficult for parents to keep children occupied for a whole two weeks; here at intu we want parents to enjoy stress-free shopping trips and what better way than with the therapy of laughter. So in partnership with Nickelodeon we have created an exciting programme of activities for children to enjoy, allowing parents to truly relax in a safe environment.”
