Tilly Bailey & Irvine Law Firm has announced it will continue its long-standing partnership with Barnard Castle Cricket Club.
With the new season just around the corner, the partnership will continue for a seventh consecutive year.
Barnard Castle CC will again enter the NYSD League as champions heading into their first match on April 20 against Billingham Synthonia, the second time in three years that they have won the Premier Division title.
Stephen Brenkley, club president, said: “We are delighted to continue our association with TBI. It cannot be overstated how important it is for the club to have close links with local firms and TBI have been our main sponsors for six years, which we’d like to think is beneficial for us both. With their name on our shirts we’ve certainly had huge success with two league titles, nine cup wins for senior sides and another two for the juniors. Long may it continue.”
Barnard Castle CC has gone from strength to strength since 2010, and has not been short of silverware. Barney has since claimed the Kerridge Cup twice, two Macmillan Cups, the Premier 15s and a brace of league titles.
The team consists largely of home-grown players supported by the careful recruitment of accomplished professionals and overseas amateurs, led by James Quinn.
Tilly Bailey & Irvine’s logo will adorn the shirts of the players for the coming season, also hosting charity games and networking events throughout the year.
Managing Partner Carolyn Tilly commented: “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing and loyal partnership with Barnard Castle Cricket Club. It remains a huge part of the community here, and offers us a wonderful opportunity both for business development, and to share our services and continue to make a difference to people in Barnard Castle. The club has played a significant part in the life of the town for almost 200 years and will continue to do so for many years.”
The deal was first struck with the assistance of Partner Helen Dexter, who forms part of TBI’s Barnard Castle office which has been at the heart of the town for almost 33 years.
Helen Dexter commented: “We’ve made great friendships with Barnard Castle Cricket Club, and are proud to support them again. We’ve also been able to help them engage with the local community with events such as the Community Games Day. They are actively creating opportunities for local young people to participate, and we’re delighted to be able to help them.”
The firm, which has been in existence since 1842, is now the largest full-service law firm of solicitors in Teesside and Tees Valley, with 18 Partners and a staff count of over 160 to its name.
