The Materials Processing Institute is offering its ongoing support to the armed forces community after committing to the Armed Forces Covenant.
The Tees Valley-based, national research and innovation centre has signed up to the covenant, reinforcing its standing as an armed forces-friendly organisation.
The Armed Forces Covenant supports serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families. It is fulfilled by groups that are committed to making a difference, while ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
As part of its commitment, the Institute will look to support the employment of service personnel’s spouses and partners, while accommodating the needs of members of the reserve forces, who require time off for their training and deployments, and taking part in Armed Forces Day and similar initiatives.
The Institute will also provide access to its meeting rooms based at its SME Technology Centre, which forms part of the Institute’s campus, for members of the armed forces, at a significantly reduced rate or free of charge.

Our commitment, through the Armed Forces Covenant, is to ensure that they and their families receive the support that they need, both when serving and as veterans.
