- More families are turning to budget-beating driving experiences for entertainment this year as they battle against inflationary rises
- Latest data from leading driving experience provider, TrackDays, reveals an average 26 per cent rise in bookings for its most popular packages under £70

More families are turning to wallet-friendly experiences this year as they battle balancing money constraints with opportunities for a fun day out, as inflation within the recreation and culture sector remains at a stubborn 6.8 per cent*.
That’s according to the latest booking data from leading driving experience provider, TrackDays.co.uk, which has discovered an average 26 per cent increase in bookings over the past year for its top experiences priced under £70.
For example, its Junior Double Supercar Experience, which is designed for children between the ages of 10 and 16, saw a significant booking increase of 42 per cent over the past year which could suggest a day out on the track is more appealing for teenagers looking for that unique experience.
Dan Jones, Operations Manager at TrackDays.co.uk said: “With the summer holidays now upon us, people are watching their purse-strings more than ever when it comes to seeking a memorable day out. More than ever before, they want to make sure that what they get is value for money.
“Our cheapest experience, which costs only £19, can see a 10-year-old learn how to drive a Suberu Impreza around a track, and it’s hard to argue that it is not value for money when you see their faces beaming once they’re done.”
The top three packages popularity, which also included a 30-minute Young Driver Experience, and an Adult Double Supercar Experience, could also be attributed to the amount of different booking locations TrackDays is able to offer.
Jones continued: “We have over 80 different places for youngsters to take part in the Younger Driving Experience, and nearly 20 when it comes to the two supercar doubles.
“The number of locations open for people means that when figuring out the total prospective cost of the day, they don’t have to worry so much about spending money getting to and from the venue. This, in turn, means they’re more likely to get better value for money.”
Currently, TrackDays has over 150 different experiences for under £70, ranging from adults or children taking a Lamborghini Gallardo out for a spin, to them learning how to master pulling a 45-foot transporter while behind the wheel of a truck.
