Today, NBS, a leading construction data platform, has announced the renewal of its partnership with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) for a further year.
The partnership brings together a wealth of information, content and resources from both organisations, providing support throughout the different stages of a building project.
Both companies are leading authorities in their field – NBS, with its cloud-based specification and manufacturer product data platform is a leading voice in digital construction, whilst CIBSE is the standard setter and authority on building services engineering, publishing first-class guidance and codes around industry best practice.
Over the past year, the joint work of NBS and CIBSE has helped supply resource and guidance to their members – including webinars on how building services engineers can incorporate NBS Chorus into their working practices and a CPD session on specification writing.
This year, both parties will be raising their game, delivering joint publications and events that will be available to CIBSE members. This includes the launch of a new technical guide aimed at best practice specification writing and further webinars on key topics such as information management and sustainability.
All CIBSE members will receive a preferential rate for a 12-month subscription to NBS Chorus, where they can collaborate with wider teams on specifications, to produce technical specifications up to 75% faster than writing them manually. This will also give them access to a range of structured content that is maintained by a team of technical authors at NBS and includes an MEP library, technical guidance and links to the latest standards and manufacturer product data.
Simon Parker, Managing Director of CIBSE Services said: “The partnership with NBS has allowed us access to quality technical information and helped us to establish closer relations with specifiers and quality specifications across the supply chain. We are delighted to continue to have NBS as our official specification and product data partner and to offer extra support to our members and the wider built environment community.”
Commenting on the partnership renewal, Dr Stephen Hamil, Innovations Director at NBS, said: “At NBS, our mission is to use the power of connected data to add value and enable a safe, efficient, high-quality industry. Our software platforms, NBS Chorus and Source, allow architects, engineers, and manufacturers to collaborate more effectively, work smarter and reduce risk on projects. The specification guidance for building services within NBS references knowledge sources such as the CIBSE Guides throughout, and we think that strengthening our partnership with continued activities is fantastic for the industry.”
Sascia Elliott, Head of Partnerships at NBS, said: “CIBSE is a leading voice in building services and we are proud to continue to work together with them to better the industry investing in education and research and supporting built environment professionals.
We are happy to see how NBS’s tools have helped CIBSE’s members over the past year and to continue to team up with them and work together to drive up construction quality and enable cross-professional collaboration.”
