A Teesside property regeneration firm has secured one of its largest lettings of 2015.
Python Properties has welcomed the North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC) into its modern offices at Royal Middlehaven House in Middlesbrough.
The NECC is relocating its Teesside team of up to 50 to the 5,200 square feet offices to allow the organisation to continue to grow its membership across the area and offer increased support and advice within the local business community.
Recently NECC announced the sale of its historic Commercial House offices, on Exchange Square in Middlesbrough, to allow for its re-development as part of a major regeneration project which will see it become a leading commercial hub for Teesside.
NECC chose to move its team in Middlesbrough to Royal Middlehaven House thanks to the availability of a large, modern office space, easy access to all main road and rail routes and the extensive facilities provided including a bistro, professionally-manned reception and art gallery showcasing the work of local artists.
James Ramsbotham, NECC chief executive, said: “There are obviously mixed emotions about moving as Commerce House has been the NECC base in the Tees Valley since it was formed, but we are very excited to secure an exciting town centre regeneration project and move to a modern office space. This Chamber has devoted over 200 years to helping create fertile ground for business to thrive in the North East, and we look forward to seeing what will be accomplished from our new base.”
Python Properties is one of the North East’s leading commercial property companies and was established in 1997 by local businessmen, Peter Broome and Martin Johnson.
The business has properties across the North of England, including the Co-Operative Buildings and Cargo Fleet Offices in Middlesbrough, the historic St George’s House in Bolton and West Riding House in Bradford’s commercial centre.
Peter Broome, partner at Python Properties, said: “This is a significant letting for Python and our biggest this year so far. NECC is one of the UK’s leading business membership organisations and highly respected with plans to continually grow throughout the Tees Valley. We’re very pleased to be able to provide them with the office accommodation to assist with this. It is a very exciting time for the area with continual inward investment in historic buildings by both us and other companies that have recognised what our area has to offer.”
