New framework win could secure a share of up to £19m of contracts for furniture firm

Furniture specialist, Godfrey Syrett is on course for an influx of new contracts after securing a place on the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) residential furniture framework for all wider Public Sector and Central Government customers, including the Ministry of Defence (MOD).

CCS is an executive agency of the Cabinet Office, supporting public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services.

The framework, which has an estimated value of £19m, will run for two years initially, with the possibility to extend for a further two years. During this time, Godfrey Syrett will design, manufacture and install a range of living and dining furniture for the Ministry of Defence’s UK-wide accommodation portfolio.

The firm, which has a working partnership with the Ministry of Defence spanning over 20 years, has recently completed a £1.8m contract in Lyneham, Wiltshire. The project involved the transformation of RAF Lyneham into a Defence College of Technical Training, providing a state of the art training facility capable of hosting 2000 students.

Paul Hutchinson, business development manager at Godfrey Syrett said: “We are pleased to have secured a place on this significant framework, which will enable us to share our design, manufacturing and space planning expertise with the next generation of defence accommodation projects.

“Projects of this nature require innovative solutions that are attractive, functional and durable. We are constantly evolving our product range to ensure it is tailored to the end user, but are also investing in the latest digital technology to optimise our manufacturing processes. This framework will allow us to build on a number of successful projects we have already completed with the MOD.”

In Yorkshire, the firm is currently working with Galliford Try at Imphal Barracks where a new build, 60-bed senior rank accommodation block is due to complete in January 2018.

The firm is also working on the installation of furniture at Keogh Barracks in Aldershot on behalf of Sodexo and has recently won a contract of over £600,000 to supply Service Families Accommodation (SFA), working with contractor Harrow Green.
