Children are to benefit a new fund set up to provide exciting holiday activities with nutritious food.
Durham County Council’s East Durham Area Action Partnership (AAP) is offering groups between £250 and £3,000 to help feed youngsters while they play.
The council’s principal AAP coordinator, Shealagh Pearce, said: “We are looking to build on the success of a similar scheme which in 2015 enabled 19 organisations to offer a wide range of fun activities to over 1,600 children, and serve 4,000 meals.”
