Turps Film, an independent video production company based in the north-east, has announced the appointment of Krishna Muthurangu as its new Director of Photography.

Following a number of new client project wins, the decision was made to add an experienced cinematographer to the business as Director of Photography in order to facilitate further growth, expand the Turps Film service offering and to provide extensive knowledge and experience to clients looking to increase their video content production.

Pre-lockdown, Turps Film wrapped on a project with Ann Cleeves, creator of local-favourite TV show ‘Vera’, and counts various large brands, including Weber and Ceramic Tile Distributors (part of the global manufacturing product group Saint-Gobain), as clients.

They also work with Harper Collins, local digital and creative agencies Evolved Search, Hedley McEwan and Sheridan Design, and Newcastle-based charity St. Oswald’s Hospice, recently producing videos to support their fundraising ball and recent rebrand.

Turps Film’s Creative Director, Luke Holland, spoke of Krishna’s appointment, saying: “I had worked with Krishna on a number of projects when he operated freelance, including the #BeAGameChanger video for NGI Solutions & Newcastle United, so was well aware of his wealth of experience and what he can add to a video project.

“When the decision was made to appoint a Director of Photography at Turps Film, he was my first choice to fill the role, so we’re delighted he has come on board and joined us at a really exciting time for the business.”

Krishna brings over 10 years of experience to the business and a range of complementing skills and experience, which will help the Turps Film service offering grow and be enable founder Luke, and the wider team, to provide high-quality content to an array of businesses, with a particular focus on those in Construction, Digital/Creative, Charities and organisations that celebrate and promote the North East region.

The business has just secured additional projects with Little Inventors and Harper Collins and Newcastle University.
