Screen Shot 2015-09-14 at 16.06.01A LEADING North East yoga firm is limbering up to help Syrian refugees fleeing from the war-torn country.

Happy Yoga Newcastle, based at Carliol Square, Newcastle, will be holding a special charity workshop on Saturday, September 26 that will raise funds to support the refugees.

Jo Hutton, owner of Happy Yoga Newcastle, will be opening the studio doors to give people of all abilities to get involved in a yoga and meditation class in return for donations.

The workshop, which will give people of all abilities the chance to get involved in a yoga and meditation class, will be followed by tea, coffee and cakes.

“I was very moved by the plight of the refugees and really wanted to do something to help,” said Jo Hutton, founder of Happy Yoga Newcastle.

“This workshop is a great way to raise money for such a worthwhile cause while making yoga accessible to many people who may not have tried it before.

“We have a great community in the North East and at times like this people always pull together.

“The class will be laid back with an emphasis on taking things at your own pace as well as relaxing and enjoying the experience.”

Tickets to the workshop are £25 per person and are available via www.happyyoganewcastle.co.uk. All proceeds from the day will go towards helping the refugees.

Happy Yoga Newcastle, set up by Jo Hutton in 2014, opened the doors on a new city centre location on May 25.

Since opening the new studio not only offers a whole host of yoga classes, including beginner’s yoga, pre and post-natal yoga and improver’s yoga, but also runs a number of charity events throughout the year.
