Alnmouth Cottages B&B has brought pride to the North East after being crowned winner of the North East Hidden Gem category at the eviivo Awards, the UK’s premier annual awards for the independent hospitality industry.
Alnmouth Cottages run by Louise Sweeney and Christine Storey finished top of the list within the North East Hidden Gem after judging by a panel of industry experts. Four other B&B Properties shortlisted from the North East also competed across a variety of categories including: ‘Sweetest Homestay’, ’Outstanding Host’ and ‘Hidden Gem’.
These independent B&Bs, guesthouses and boutique hotels were shortlisted to represent the pinnacle of UK and particularly North East hospitality, providing some of UK’s most special holiday experiences in a variety of settings.
The eviivo Awards, this year hosted at the glamourous Quaglino’s, London, seek to recognise the best of the UK’s world-class B&Bs, guesthouses, inns, serviced apartments, self-catering units and small independent hotels.
David Weston, awards judge and Chairman of the Bed & Breakfast Association said: “With over 1,000 new B&Bs opening since 2015, it is great to see that the sector is enjoying a revival. These brilliant B&Bs are diverse in what they offer, and this can be seen in the variety of nominations across the North East.”
