A NORTH EAST dentist has plenty to smile about, after once again making it to the shortlist of the country’s top cosmetic dentist awards.
Dr Ken Harris of Riveredge Cosmetic Dentistry, which has practices in Sunderland and Newcastle, is a finalist in six categories in this year’s Aesthetic Dentistry Awards.
This year’s record haul of six shortlisted entries ensures he remains the most successful dentist in the competition, having won multiple awards each year since the awards were launched back in 2006, confirming his position as one of the UK’s most qualified cosmetic dentists.
The awards, which reward aesthetic, orthodontic and restorative excellence, are considered the most prestigious in the industry, with the winners announced in London on March 20.
Dr Harris is a finalist in the restorative case – single arch category, restorative case – full mouth, restorative case – shade matching and restorative case – conservative smile makeover.
He has also been shortlisted in the single implant case and whitening case study sections.
Dr Harris has long being regarded by his peers and patients as an expert, with a long line of qualifications which has seen him recognised nationally and internationally as an expert in his field.
“It’s always a great honour to be recognised by your peers,” said Dr Harris.
“These awards are held in great esteem by the dental profession and it is very exciting to be nominated again, in so many categories.
“It’s also a thrill as a northerner to be able to showcase that we have world class dentistry available in this region.”
Dr Harris is one of only two Fellows of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (BACD) which involves him teaching other dentists around the UK. He is a full member of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (BAAD, and regularly teaches USA dentists at the world-renowned Kois Center programme across in Seattle.
Over the years Dr. Harris has become recognised globally for his skills and now teaches dentists throughout Europe and worldwide.
He regularly travels across to North America and Canada, delivering lectures on aesthetic dentistry to practitioners in New York, Vancouver, San Francisco, Orange County, Fresno and San Diego in his role as the Clinical Director for California Center (sic) for Advanced Dental Studies.
