‘Oh What A Pear’ – Steve and Karen Team Up With The Botanist In The Name of Charity

Living up to its name as one of Newcastle’s finest drinking spots, this month The Botanist welcomed two well-known North East faces to join its team of mixologists.

In association with Metro Radio’s Cash for Kids, The Botanist Newcastle has launched a limited edition cocktail which will raise money for the children’s charity.

Metro Radio’s Steve and Karen spent a day with the bar’s mixologists learning tricks of the trade and concocted the exclusive “Oh What A Pear” cocktail from which £1 for each drink sold throughout June will be donated to Cash for Kids.

The one-off addition to the menu has been created using a combination of pear, basil, almond sugar syrup, amaretto, Zante apple brandy, Quatro and a splash of lime and apple juice, before being decorated with a pear fan.

When asked about the cocktail, the team at Metro Radio said: “We think this drink is proper lush and very tasty. It’s even more enjoyable on their sunny roof terrace!”
