The North East’s biggest annual pop party, ‘Metro Radio Christmas Live’ is back and this year it’s bigger and better than ever! Metro Radio and TFM has announced that Olly Murs will be headlining the 2016 event. Other confirmed acts include English DJ and songwriter Jonas Blue and Britain’s Got Talent star Calum Scott.

Promoting the event, Dom Munnelly, Metro’s Marketing Director said: “Securing Olly is great news as he loves Newcastle and his fans love to party. We have some other top acts already confirmed and a few more names still to come. It’s guaranteed to be an action packed night of great entertainment. Where else can you see this number of top performers in one night?”

Metro Radio Christmas Live 2016 takes place on Friday 16th December at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle. Last year’s event was a sell-out.

The Metro Radio Christmas Live 2016 Line up so far is:

 Olly Murs, one of British music’s biggest stars, has announced his eagerly anticipated 5th album ‘24 HRS’ out November 11th on RCA. The follow up to the million plus selling ‘Never Been Better’ will feature the Number 1 airplay hit ‘You Don’t Know Love’.

 Jonas Blue, born and raised in London and has so far taken the music industry by storm, implementing his musical cues in all of his undertakings. From pop to classic dance music, as well as delving into elements of tropical house.

 Dua Lipa, an English singer from London who was just 19 years old when she found fame. She describes her musical style as “dark pop” and has a smoky style voice.

 Calum Scott is an English-Canadian singer and songwriter who came to worldwide attention when he appeared as a contestant on the television programme Britain’s Got Talent in 2015.

 MO (pronounced MOO). The three girls grew after a hugely successful performance on online music platform SBTV. The performance went on to become SBTV’s most viewed debut performance. They have since gone onto be nominated for an award at the Mobos.

Warming up the crowd on the night, and achieving life-long ambitions of performing on the big stage, are the regional winners of The Big Audition, Craig Roddam from Durham and Danielle Brown from Newcastle.
