Popular Acts Combined for Christmas

Screen Shot 2015-08-11 at 15.22.11Pop music from the past and present is being brought together for two special events in the North East.

On Friday December 18 and Saturday December 19 2015, Jersey Boys Meet Take That will be performing at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

The aptly-named act, which has already wowed audiences across the UK, pays tribute to both the chart-topping boyband and the international musical, with a unique range of authentic costumes, dance routines and sound alike tracks.

This include copies of the iconic red jackets worn by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, which have been created by the same costume designer as those currently worn in the smash hit Jersey Boys musical, which also pays tribute to the popular band.

Michael Murray, leader of Jersey Boys Meet Take That, said:  “We have worked extremely hard over the past nine months to make this one of the most authentic tribute acts in the UK.

“The reaction we’ve received by drawing together Jersey Boys and Take That has been amazing and we can’t wait to bring this unique combination to Sunderland in December.”

For the first half of Jersey Boys Meet Take That’s appearances at the Stadium of Light guests will enjoy a host of Take That’s biggest hits, including Greatest Day, Shine, Never Forget and Could It Be Magic, all modelled on the boyband’s previous live performances.

Then, for act two, they will be taken back to the 60s, with a small scale recreation of The Jersey Boys stage show, complete with a candy red Farfisa organ, slick choreography and carefully crafted vocal arrangements on tracks such as Sherry, Walk Like A Man and Big Girls Don’t Cry.

Before all that there will be a chance for visitors to enjoy a five course meal created by the expert chefs at 1879 Events Management, including traditional Northumberland broth, trio of melon, a choice of roasted turkey paupiette, salmon or a vegetarian tart, Christmas pudding and mince pies.

This forms part of the Stadium of Light’s packed programme of seasonal events, which also includes tributes to Olly Murs and Michael Buble, as well as appearances by stars from reality shows The Only Way is Essex and Made in Chelsea.

Gary Hutchinson, Commercial Director at Sunderland AFC, said: “The seasonal schedule at the Stadium of Light has been designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes and ages.  Jersey Boys Meet Take That are able to do that in a single performance and we are delighted to have them on board.”

Tickets for Jersey Boys Meet Take That at the Stadium of Light on December 18 or 19 are priced at £33.95, including a five course meal.

A number of special offers are also available for this and other events in the Stadium of Light’s seasonal schedule, including a complimentary half bottle of wine per person and a free pair of Black Cats Bar tickets for an SAFC home game for the event organiser. These apply to bookings for 20 people or more made before September 30.
