Thirteen’s employability service has been recognised with a prestigious Northern Housing Award. The team won the Resident Employment/Training Initiative of the Year.
The team offers a range of services throughout Tees Valley, County Durham and Newcastle to support individuals into employment, education and training.
Since the service was launched in May 2016, the team has supported 2,246 customers:
- 1,011 have received an offer of employment, education or training
- From those, 750 found employment or an apprenticeship and 264 accessed full-time education or vocational training
- An additional 1,669 customers have received some form of supported intervention to break down barriers to work, improving the chances of landing their ideal role
Thirteen’s senior housing related support manager, Karen Kenmare, said: “We are so pleased to have won this award. It recognises the hard work the whole employability team puts in to supporting each and every customer to help them into work, training or education, always going the extra mile to get the best possible outcomes for them.”
