ANYONE in search of rest, relaxation and finding inner calm can join the first ever yoga retreat at a leading North East hotel.
The Spa at Ramside, at Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa near Durham, is hosting an all-day wellness event on 29 May, with just 12 places available.
The event is being led by yoga and meditation guru, Marine Sullivan, who has more than 20 years of experience in teaching and studying Hatha yoga, Vinyasa flow – where students coordinate movement with their breath – and Ashtanga, where yoga is used for exercise.
The retreat has been tailored to suit those who want to try yoga for the first time or for anyone who is more experienced.

The day will start with welcome smoothies followed by an outdoor uplifting yoga session, light head/hand or foot massages, fruit or snack platters, yin style yoga, a herbal tea break and guided mediation.
And to complete the relaxation experience, participants will be able to end the day with free time in the spa’s balcony infinity pool where vegan tapas will be served.
Lizzie Douglass, resort sales manager at the spa, believes the retreat will prove really popular.
“We are very most focused on a holistic approach to well being and introducing yoga to the spa is very much in line with that way of thinking,” she said.
“This day will be a great experience for anyone who has never tried yoga before, but the sessions are also tailored to those who are more familiar with the techniques but would like to spend a whole day with an expert.
“We hope this will be the first of many similar events.”
The retreat – which includes drinks and snacks – costs £139 and can be booked at www.ramsidespa.co.uk
