A Tyneside based regulatory compliance company has changed its approach and entered new markets, following advice from one of the North East’s leading business coaches.
Harbour House Associates has helped other companies comply with environmental, and health and safety standards since 2012, and has recently started to offer services to organisations in the charitable, leisure and catering sectors.
This follows Colin Gray, Managing Director of Harbour House, engaging business coach David Cliff, of Gedanken Ltd, one of the North East’s leading suppliers of business coaching, personal development, mediation and mentoring services.
Mr Cliff was able to identify new business areas for Harbour House Associates to offer its existing services to, which had primarily been sold to small commercial organisations. He advised Mr Gray to look for customers in these new markets, and how to change his existing message and branding to appeal to them.
Colin Gray said “Once my mind was made up to engage with David, I looked on him as being equivalent to appointing a Business Development Manager. Effectively, David became an extra resource within the company to help me strengthen and grow the business to a new level. By engaging a professional business coach and mentor, we have had the opportunity to bounce ideas around and get a fresh perspective on issues in the company.”
David Cliff said: “When I met Colin I was impressed by what Harbour House Associates is doing for its customers, and saw how they could transfer its offering to other sectors, to expand its customer base. At Gedanken our focus is very much on developing thought, creativity and vision which helps people take their next steps so that both they and their organisations grow.”
