The Sandpiper, Farringdon Road, Cullercoats, plans to build on its growing reputation as a food venue, with a menu designed to appeal to all ages and appetites.

Along with a variety of wraps, salads, burgers, bar snacks and starters, the venue is offering a choice of main courses, including traditional pub favourites, such as scampi and mixed grill and a range of risotto and pasta dishes.

And, on certain days of the week, diners can take advantage of special, ‘designated dish,’ food offers.

Wednesday’s Steak Night, with steak and all the trimmings for just £7.99, will be followed by Curry Thursday – £5.95 for curry of the day – and Fish Friday, when two portions of fish and chips, bread and butter and tea will cost just £10.

The venue is also adding a little magic to its increasingly popular Sunday carvery with magician Alex Jobson entertaining diners from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.

Free cake will also be on offer to anyone visiting the Sandpiper for tea or coffee before 4pm Monday to Friday.

The Sandpiper is open from 12 noon until 11 pm from Sunday to Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Food is served from 12 noon until 9pm from Monday to Saturday and until 4pm on Sundays.
