North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Santa is once again changing colour and donning his ‘green’ suit to spread the festive message and the chance of winning £250 to community groups across the north east.

Stagecoach North East is bringing Christmas cheer to the local community and inviting them to email Green Santa, asking ‘What could Stagecoach Green Santa give your community group to help the environment?”

Community groups throughout Newcastle, South Shields, Sunderland, Teesside and Hartlepool have until Christmas Eve to send in their entries, explaining the green gift that they would like to receive, and the best entry chosen by the local bus operator will be awarded a ‘green’ gift up to the value of £250. Winners will be notified in January 2017.

The eco-competition proved very popular last year, with a scout and guide group winning a range of ‘green’ gifts such as new roof insulation, solar powered lights and wind-up eco torches. The Stagecoach North East Green Santa competition is also open to schools every year, with pupils sending in a wide variety of ideas such as gardening equipment, composters, fruit trees and seeds.
