The Managing Director of one of the UK’s largest providers of home services has been recognised with a prestigious award by a leading membership organisation.

Kevin Brown, Group Managing Director of Pacifica Group, won the Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s Scale-up accolade at its annual North East Entrepreneurial Awards.

Kevin, who co-founded the company with Group FD, Scott Pallister and Paul Feek, has overseen a strong year of growth, with Pacifica Group achieving record revenues of £27.2m. It is expected to grow further in 2018, with turnover set to exceed £35m.

Having left school at the age of 16, Kevin rose from an apprentice electrical engineer at the North Eastern Electricity Board to become its Operations Director, before starting out in business in 2003 and subsequently establishing Pacifica Group in 2006 along with Scott and Paul.

Based in Houghton le Spring, Pacifica Group is one of the UK’s largest providers of home services, including home appliance repairs, heating, gas and renewable energy installations and maintenance, as well as product warranty solutions.

The Group handles in excess of 230,000 service calls annually and employs more than 480 staff, including 250 field-based engineers operating throughout the UK.

The North East Entrepreneurial Awards recognise the North East of England’s most aspirational, inspiring and successful entrepreneurs.

The Entrepreneurs’ Forum represents more than 300 individual member companies, which have a combined turnover of more than £2.3 billion and in excess of 23,000 employees.

This latest awards success follows 0800 Repair, a subsidiary of Pacifica Group, being highly commended at the 2018 H&V News Awards in the Domestic Heating Contractor of the Year category. The Home Services division of Pacifica Group headed up by Phil Pallister also won the Social Responsibility Company award at the 2018 National Energy Efficiency Awards.

Kevin was named the 2017 Durham and Wearside Business Executive of the Year in the 2017 North East Business Executive of the Year Awards.

Mr Brown said: “It is a huge honour to be recognised in the North East business community by the Entrepreneurs’ Forum. The Group has gone from strength to strength with continued organic growth, fuelled by several high-profile partnerships with new and existing customers, and our emphasis on delivering excellent customer service.

“It is a testament to the hard work of our growing workforce, who are committed to the Group and supporting our client base. I am expecting further strong growth across our subsidiaries as we continue to diversify and enter new markets, while embracing new technologies to enhance our services.”
