B. Braun Sheffield Sharks moved to the top of their group Sunday whilst Newcastle Eagles moved level with Cheshire Phoenix in theirs.

The Sharks overcame Leicester Riders 79-63 thanks to Nick Lewis dropping 29 points assisted by an additional 20 points from Connor Cashaw and a whopping 17 rebounds from Bennett Koch.

The win now puts Sheffield Sharks top of the Cup North Group standings and if they win their final game of the Group stages next Friday against Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks, they will finish top of the table. If they lose they will finish second.

Elsewhere in the North Group, Newcastle Eagles managed to pick up an away victory over Manchester Giants, 66-94.

John Mitchel led his team, picking up a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds, and he was aided by his teammate Rahmon Fletcher who provided a key 16 assists.

The Toon side now move level with Cheshire Phoenix in the Cup North Group standings. If they win their remaining game on Friday, against Manchester Giants again, they will end the Group stages in third place. If they lose, they will have to hope that Cheshire Phoenix lose their final game next Sunday in order to still finish third.
