Simon Bailes Peugeot is celebrating its contribution to the marque being named as the UK’s most dependable brand.

The family-run company, with dealerships in Northallerton, Guisborough and Stockton, has played its part in delivering the accolade through positive sales and customer service to strengthen Peugeot’s market share across Yorkshire and the North East.

The J.D. Power survey, one of the most respected ownership surveys in the industry, ranked it highest overall with a score of 77 – significantly ahead of the following Skoda, Hyundai, Nissan and Suzuki brands.

More than 11,000 vehicle owners voted Peugeot the ‘Most Dependable Volume Brand’ in the customer satisfaction survey, with the Peugeot 208 also named as ‘Most Dependable Small Car’.

Owners rated their cars during their first 12-36 months of ownership on such attributes as reliability, running costs and build quality.

In 2018, Peugeot was ranked 11th in the number of new cars sold (81,043) in the UK whilst, according to official figures, 8.4 per cent of cars registered in the Yorkshire and North East carry the iconic Lion badge.

The annual J.D. Power survey also reported that repurchase intentions have increased, with 49 percent of respondents saying they “definitely will” buy the same brand, compared with 43 percent in 2015.
