Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

logo-landscapeSMOKERS across Stockton Borough are being encouraged to take the first step towards giving up cigarettes this week.

On Wednesday (March 9), National No Smoking Day, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council will be working with health services to offer advice about how to quit.

Stockton & Hartlepool Specialist Stop Smoking Service will be hosting an information stall on Stockton Market as well as providing information in libraries, leisure centres, children’s centres and community centres across the Borough.

Leader of Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, Councillor Bob Cook, said: “We’re giving No Smoking Day our full support so smokers can learn how to find help to stop.

“We know that two-thirds of smokers want to quit but find it hard to so I encourage anyone who would like some advice about how to give up smoking to visit the “No Smoking Day” stall on Stockton Market or collect an information leaflet from council owned community facilities right across the Borough.”
