TV Star brings Murs and Buble to his Native North East

Jamie Tinkler as Olly MursAn experienced entertainer, who has enjoyed success in the charts and on TV, is preparing to wow the crowds in his native North East as two of music’s biggest stars.

Jamie Tinkler, a former fan favourite on ITV talent shows Pop Idol and X Factor, will be appearing as both Olly Murs and Michael Buble at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland on December 11, 12 and 31.

The 36-year old, who achieved three top 30 singles with Pete Waterman’s group Pop in 2003 before later fronting bands Avenue and Baxter, has been performing his unique tribute act for more than five years and even sang at SAFC striker, Danny Graham’s, wedding earlier this year.

As part of his appearances at the Stadium of Light, Jamie will first perform as Canadian singing star, Michael Buble, offering a mix of chart-topping hits and festive favourites, including Haven’t Met You Yet, Home andWalking in a Winter Wonderland.

From there he will be transformed into Essex heartthrob and new X Factor presenter, Olly Murs, singing tracks such as Wrapped Up, Troublemaker and Please Don’t Let Me Go.

Both sets have been designed to offer a sound-a-like experience, with backing from a full live band.

“I have a strong theatre background and use all of these skills in my performances to make sure I act, sing and sound like Michael and Olly as much as possible,” said Jamie.   “I can’t wait to celebrate Christmas with fans of both artists and to perform, once again, at the Stadium of Light.”

Jamie’s performances on December 11 and 12 form part of the Stadium of Light’s seasonal programme of Traditional Party Nights, which also includes tributes to Take That, the Four Seasons and the 90s.

The singer will also be appearing at the venue’s New Year’s Eve Gala Ball on December 31, alongside Scottish pipers who will welcome in the New Year.

Tickets for the Traditional Party Nights at the Stadium of Light are priced at £33.95 per person, including live entertainment and a four course meal, prepared by the expert chefs from 1879 Events Management.

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Gala Ball, priced at £52.95 per person, also include a three course meal and bacon rolls served at midnight.

A number of special offers are available for these and other events in the Stadium of Light’s seasonal schedule, including a complimentary half bottle of wine per person and a free pair of Black Cats Bar tickets for an SAFC home game for the event organiser. These apply to bookings for 20 people or more made before September 30.
