Busy Autumn Tour Starts on the Corner

As a special taster for their mammoth 47-night tour of the UK with their Lindisfarne Story show, Sunday for Sammy stalwarts, Billy Mitchell and Ray Laidlaw entertained the audience at a special TV screening.

The popular pair played a live version of the Lindisfarne anthem “Meet me on the corner” at a preview of new TV show, Boy Meets Girl that uses the song in its titles. Guests at the event included actress Denise Welch who plays Pam and Rebecca Root who plays the lead role of transgender Judy.

Denise enjoyed the rendition of the classic Lindisfarne song and wished the pair well on their forthcoming tour:

“Billy and Ray are two of the busiest and most talented people in show business. I’ve always loved “Meet me on the corner” and I know from experience that people who attend The Lindisfarne Story are going to love songs like this being performed together with the lad’s tales of their career in the music industry.”

Billy added: “ We’ve both had a great career with Lindisfarne and during the show we give the audience a unique insight into the workings of a rock and roll band. There’s music, some funny stories and there are sad bits too but above all, we think it’s an entertaining evening for anyone who loves music and the culture of the 60’s, 70’s right up to today.”

The Lindisfarne Story opens in Keswick on September 13^th and ends in Nettlebed on 30^th November. North East shows include
