Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Upcoming shows at Princess Alexandra Auditorium

At 7:30pm On 18 May, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Chris Serle will present Oh Goody!  At The Princess Alexandra Auditorium (PAA) in Yarm.

This will be followed by The Johnny Cash Roadshow on 1 June, and Totally Tina on 2 June.

Oh Goody! promises an unforgettable evening in the company of one of the funniest and best-loved comedy performers of our time, as he discusses his long career with the writer and broadcaster Chris Serle. Tim Brooke-Taylor delights as he tells hilarious stories from a lifetime in comedy. This is an evening of warmth and good-humour spiced with a few revealing anecdotes about many of the names Tim has appeared with including his fellow Goodies, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie. As a Cambridge graduate planning a sensible career in the family law firm, he shot to international stardom with the review “Cambridge Circus” in the 1960s. A string of brilliant anecdotes includes Tim’s hesitant start in comedy as a schoolboy-magician, golf with Seve Ballesteros, directing Orson Welles in a feature film and an encounter with Eric Morecambe on a beach in Portugal. The evening is generously illustrated with clips of the funniest moments from his TV and film career. Adults £19, Concessions/Children £17. Saturday 18 May, 7:30pm.

The Johnny Cash Roadshow, the only show to be endorsed by the Cash family, is back on top form with a brand new production for 2019. Award-winning front man Clive John dedicates this year to a 50th anniversary tour of the legendary San Quentin State Prison recordings, which was televised on Granada Television on February 24th 1969, and later released on June 4 of that same year. Alongside Clive is iconic wife June Carter played by Emily Heighway, a world class band (Spirit band) and the JCR horns.  All supported with full video projection. This show is simply the biggest and best celebration of Johnny Cash in the world. Songs from the San Quentin live album will be performed mixed with all the hits and favourite songs that we all know and love. This show is only coming round once so don’t miss out! Adults £23, Concessions £21. Saturday 1 June, 7:30pm.

Sunday 2nd June 7.30pm – Totally Tina! is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning tribute revue show to the Queen of Rock. The show re-creates the spectacle and energy of Tina’s live shows with a six-piece band, four stunning dancers and Justine’s incredible impersonation of the Queen of Rock and Soul. The show takes the audience on a journey from the early days with Ike, and songs like River Deep, Mountain High, all the way through to Tina’s solo comeback in the 80s with her incredible cover of the Al Green classic, Let’s Stay Together, to her massive solo hits like Simply The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It.
