Yarm School is marking the official opening of its prestigious new Music School with a community singing experience, led by one of the country’s foremost composers and choral conductors Will Todd.
The event, on Sunday 18th September, is an opportunity for singers of all ages, abilities and experience to come together under Will Todd’s charismatic leadership to celebrate the fantastic facility.
Following an afternoon of rehearsals and workshops, where Will Todd will be joined by singers from Schola Cantorum,Oxford University’s Chamber Choir, a massed performance will commemorate the official opening of the music school.
Schola Cantorum, singers from Yarm School and Tees Valley Youth Choir will conclude the celebrations with an evening performance in the school’s Princess Alexandra Auditorium.

In addition, there is a 140-seat lecture theatre with cutting-edge designed retractable seating, making it a truly flexible performance venue.
David Dunn, Yarm School headmaster, said: “The music school is a fantastic new facility for Yarm School and one which we are very proud of.
“To have someone of the calibre of Will Todd visit and conduct such an exciting day of singing is a real feather in our cap and I know that it will be a wonderful way to celebrate our wonderful music school.”
