A taste of the world at intu Eldon Square

CaptureThai and Italian on the menu as two more restaurants sign up to intu Eldon Square’s £25m restaurant quarter.
 
Two new restaurateurs have signed up to be part of intu Eldon Square’s new catering development, Grey’s Quarter, joining a host of other restaurants.
 
Chaophraya, which prides itself on its classic Thai gastronomy, and ASK, the renowned Italian cuisine restaurant chain, will both become part of intu’s new £25 million pound dining space at intu Eldon Square.
 
Chaophraya will open a flagship 5,500 sq ft restaurant at intu Eldon Square’s new roof terrace on a 20-year lease. Diners will access the restaurant via a scenic lift to the rooftop, where they will experience an authentic taste ofThailand, sampling local delicacies along with famous Thai hospitality and cocktails. 
 
Ian Leigh, managing director of Thai Leisure Group said: “We are delighted to have secured such a fantastic location at intu Eldon Square, in the heart of Newcastle city centre. Our restaurants offer the finest Thai dining experience and we’re really looking forward to bringing it to the North East.”
 
ASK Italian, a national operator with [137] units in the UK including one at intu Metrocentre, will take approximately 4,000 sq ft for a 25 -year lease on the lower level of Grey’s Quarter to add to the exciting line up there, including Tapas Revolution and The Alchemist, part of the Living Ventures Group.

Our line-up is sure to keep our visitors satisfied, with a variety of world cuisine, from Italian to Mexican, from Spanish to Thai and from American to British, there really is something for everyone.

intu is investing in a £25 million reconfiguration of 80,000 sq. ft. of retail space to provide a catering development comprising 20 new restaurants. TGI Fridays, Tapas Revolution, Ed’s Diner, Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito, Bella Italia, Handmade Burger and Giraffe are among the new operators who have already signed leases for the new restaurant quarter. The development is the latest investment at intu Eldon Square following its BCSC Gold Award winning mall refurbishment.  
 
intu Eldon Square attracts 35 million customer visits annually. With 140 units, the centre is the prime retail destination in Newcastle and is one of the largest city centre shopping destinations in the UK.
