Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Football to Fairground for Family Fun

Family Fun Day 2One of the North East’s leading football venues is being transformed into a fun size fairground and throwing open its doors for all the family.

On Saturday July 4 the Stadium of Light, Sunderland will be swapping balls for bouncy castles, as it plays host to the annual Black Cats Family Fun Day.

The event, which kicks off at 1.30pm, will offer visitors of all ages the chance to have a go on a number of rides, including dodgems, meet a variety of fairytale princesses and enjoy live entertainment from a balloon artist, football freestyler and magician.

Expert coaches from SAFC’s official charity, the Foundation of Light, will be on hand throughout the afternoon to deliver a range of football based challenges, such as skills and drills and the speed cage, with a number of prizes up for grabs.

There will also be an opportunity to see behind the scenes at the Stadium of Light with a special tour, including the chance to walk out of the tunnel like a real Black Cat and sit in the head coach’s dugout.

Matt Smith, Assistant Commercial Director at SAFC, said: “The Black Cats Family Fun Days are extremely popular and have always sold out.  This year we’re offering an even wider array of activities for all ages and tickets are already in high demand.”

Tickets for the Family Fun Day at the Stadium of Light, priced at £7.50 per person, are limited and expected to sell out in advance.  For more information, or to book, call 0871 9111973.
