A landlord event will help the county’s most vulnerable through a partnership with a local charity.
Durham City Homes is holding a drop-in service at Waddington Street Centre on Wednesday, 27 July between 10.30am and 12pm to answer tenants’ queries on rehousing, repairs, rent, antisocial behaviour and other support services.
Michelle Parnaby, Customer Services Officer from Durham City Homes, said: “We understand that some residents prefer to talk through their housing queries in person, but may find it difficult to come to our offices.
“Next week we will be on hand to offer advice and support with tenants’ housing queries from the charity’s city centre location.”
Waddington Street Centre provides support services to people with mental health issues, including access to housing, health and wellbeing, and educational resources.
Steve Wakefield, Waddington Street Centre Manager, said: “We know that having poor housing conditions can badly affect a person’s mental health and by establishing a partnership with Durham City Homes, we have the
opportunity to work closely with a local housing provider.”
