NBS and Autodesk collaborate to build the next generation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) information management and product object integration

NBS and AutoDeskNBS and Autodesk have announced their intention to work together to develop the next generation of information and knowledge management integration.

NBS will help Autodesk and its customers with support for the BS1192 Building information modelling (and the futureInternational Organisation for Standardisation standards) processes and the next generation of integration with product objects, specifications as well as standards and regulatory information. Supporting improvements in information and knowledge management through the project workflow, the collaboration will simplify decision making process for customers by implementing enhanced integration between the products.

This integration of geometry and data will simplify decision making, provide access to content through the entire project workflow and enable collaboration across the different disciplines, saving time and money.

This means that Architects, Surveyors and Engineers can gain access to critical information, reducing risk to business owners and managers. And for manufacturers, it provides the opportunity to place key information at the point of decision making.

Richard Waterhouse, chief executive of NBS states –

“This effort will provide a step change in the delivery of integrated solutions to provide huge efficiency gains for designers, manufacturers, contractors and building owners / operatorsBy integrating our data into the Autodesk portfolio, we will be providing a joint solution which provides and maintains critical data within the construction workflow and adds more value for our customers.”

Vikram Dutt, senior director of AEC Industry Strategy & Marketing of Autodesk states –

Autodesk and NBS have shared desires to benefit the industry as a whole and both are committed to providing our customers with the best experience.”
