Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Raise a glass to Darlington Bar and Restaurant Week

From Saturday 20 to Tuesday 30 August, restaurants, cafés, pubs and wine bars across the town centre will be enticing customers with a range of special deals and offers.

And organiser, BID company Distinct Darlington, hopes the event – the first of its kind in the town – will shine a spotlight on the vast array of venues, menus and cuisines available.

So far around 15 companies have signed up to take part in Darlington Bar and Restaurant Week, offering a variety of deals and discounts on everything from drinks to dinner and even take away snacks and meals.

Those taking part include big high street names along with smaller, independent venues and organisers hope the initiative will build on the success of the Distinctly Delicious Darlington Festival of Food, in May, which showcased locally produced food and drink.

“The bar and restaurant scene is really growing in Darlington, with the town developing a solid reputation for quality and creativity – and value for money,” said Distinct Darlington manager Alex Hirst.

“Hosting events like our Bar and Restaurant Week further raises the profile of our town centre and helps attract new visitors to sample the food and drink delights on offer here.

“And we very much hope it will encourage visitors to return to their favourite venues and, perhaps, inspire them to try out places they’ve not experienced before.”

The offers will be available as vouchers which customers will be able to collect from shops and businesses throughout the town centre or download from Distinct Darlington’s website at  www.distinctdarlington.co.uk.
