Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Tenants invited to drop-in and talk about their financial wellbeing

Residents can find out if they are claiming everything they are entitled to at a free event this month.

East Durham Homes are hosting a financial wellbeing  event on Monday, 27 February, which will focus on the cost of furniture.

Between 9am and 5pm at East Durham Partnership in Horden, attendees can raise any concerns about up and coming changes to benefits; as well as browse a large selection of furniture available to buy; and talk to energy savings advisers and representatives from NEFirst Credit Union.

Heather Wake, Senior Employment and Support Officer at East Durham Homes, said: “We urge people with any queries, no matter how big or small, to come along. One simple conversation could have a real impact on day to day expenditure.

“Our event may be of particular interest to those tenants with furniture packs, including customers from our partner landlord Durham City Homes, who may be further affected by up and coming changes to welfare.”

Refreshments will be provided and transport to attend the session can be arranged.

This event has been funded by ‘MONKEY’, a county-wide scheme that helps tenants, and people applying for social housing, to gain access to a range of affordable services to support their tenancy.
