Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Young Entrepreneurs Expand Newcastle Gym Eighteen Months After Opening

unnamedMatthew Walker, 24, and Alex Esgate, 23, are set to expand their Newcastle personal training business just eighteen months after opening.

Pioneer Performance, in Wallsend, opened in February 2015 to provide sustainable, science-based personal training for clients across the region. Following sustained levels of success over the last 18 months, the gym will be relocating to new premises on Newcastle Quayside in August 2016 to provide more space for training, and subsequently, tripling the number of staff.

Alex, who graduated in Sports Exercise and Nutrition at Northumbria University in 2014 explained:

“It’s a really exciting time for us as we start to grow and create new opportunities for clients and our team. We’re really looking forward to expanding to larger premises, and most of all, gaining six new trainers. There is so much appetite for fitness coaching and personal training in Newcastle, and we’re keen to create a strong, friendly community around the new gym in order to support as many people as possible.”

The new gym, in Ouseburn, has been specifically designed with personal training in mind; creating the ideal environment for training clients including state-of- the-art Watson Gym equipment, refreshments and kitchen facilities, and free parking.

Matthew, who studied Sport and Exercise Sciences at Sunderland University, added:

“It’s vital that our training and nutrition programmes are sustainable, enjoyable and ultimately, successful. This new space is all part of that. By creating the right atmosphere, with the right people, everyone has the opportunity to achieve their goals.”

Pioneer Performance will re-open to new clients in September 2016. Keep up to date with the move on Facebook or Instagram, or on their website www.pioneer-performance.com
