Pricing and specification for the 70th Anniversary 595 range which includes the return of the well-known esseesse name plate has been announced. To celebrate Abarth’s 70th anniversary, the scorpion brand has launched a “70th Anniversary” version of the Abarth 595 in a Competizione specification. Alongside the commemorative model, all Abarth 595’s will be fitted with the 70th Anniversary celebratory badge.

The Abarth 595 range
The 70th Anniversary 595 range is immediately recognisable by the “70th Anniversary” badge and represents the evolution of the icon of the brand. The 595 Competizione with its 180 HP is engineered for the fans of performance and racing attitude. For the “70th Anniversary”, the 595 Competizione comes with the Uconnect with touchscreen 7″ HD with Abarth Telemetry, which is Apple CarPlay ready and Android AutoTM* compatible, as standard. Other standard equipment includes Brembo braking system, Sabelt racing seats and Record Monza exhaust with an active valve controlled by a “Sport” button. Pressing the Sport button opens the exhaust valve and the engine rumble becomes deeper and bolder. The driver can choose a more sedate engine sound or a tougher, sportier – and more traditionally Abarth – roar.

One of the new features of the “70th Anniversary” is the adoption of Uconnect 7″ HD with the sat-nav which is Apple CarPlay ready and Android AutoTM compatible, also as standard. The Abarth 595 Turismo is designed for drivers who enjoy performance and comfort. The Turismo is also enhanced by the Urban Pack, which comprises of parking sensors, rain sensor and dusk sensor.

The line-up concludes with the 595 version, that with its 145 HP of power is the entry-level model and offers all the standard equipment needed to ensure the typical enjoyment and driving pleasure expected from the brand with the scorpion badge, like the flat-bottom steering wheel with crosshairs insert.

New Abarth 595 esseesse
The stunning Abarth 595 esseesse is back, breathing new life into a name deeply rooted in the brand’s history. A success repeated in 2009 by the original “esseesse” tuning kit for the new Abarth 500, which appeared in 2008. The tuning increased the engine’s power to 160 HP and modified the suspension setup, with Eibach lowering springs, alongside a higher-powered braking system and other clearly racing-inspired contents.

Today, 10 years later, the iconic “esseesse” returns to the top of the Abarth range, and is equipped with the brand’s most powerful 180 HP engine. In the best Abarth tradition, this 595 is made truly special by specific standard equipment that provides an exciting driving experience, always accompanied by the unmistakable deep roar of the Abarth by Akrapovic exhaust system, custom-developed, which combines outstanding performance with an exciting sound. To increase power delivery to the front wheels, a mechanical limited slip differential has been fitted to the esseessee as standard.

The new Abarth 595 esseesse also features a high-performance Brembo front braking system, with perforated, ventilated front brake discs and oversize red brake calipers. The braking system is able to realign the brake pads with the disc’s braking surface, for rapid heat dispersal and improved response when braking. The esseesse is identified by 17″ Supersport alloy wheels with a new Racing White finish, Abarth side stripes, mirror caps and matching front and rear DAM.

Also standard is the specific air filter “by BMC”, providing better intake air flow capacity with obvious benefits for engine combustion quality, power output and performance. The new Abarth 595 esseesse’s equipment is completed by Koni FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) front and rear suspension. For infotainment, the 595 includes navigation with the 7″ Uconnect HD touchscreen system, including Abarth Telemetry, Apple CarPlay support and Android AutoTM compatibility* as standard.

The Abarth 595 esseesse’s racing personality is clearly expressed by “Sabelt 70” sports seats with carbon rear shell, and the carbon pedals. A new range of Sabelt seats are now available on the 595, marking Abarth’s 70th birthday with the number 70 embroidered on the cover. The seats have been redesigned with new shapes, inserts and padding, for an even more intense driving experience.
