Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

It’s Puppy Love this Wedding Season at Slaley Hall

Having your beloved pooch attend your wedding is no longer seen as a ‘barking’ mad idea, according to the wedding experts at luxury Northumberland country hotel Slaley Hall this National Pet Month.

Dog loving couples hoping to include their furry bundle of joy in their special day are in luck as Slaley Hall is offering dog-friendly wedding ceremonies.

Often seen as a member of the family, four-legged friends no longer have to miss out on seeing their owners tie the knot, and can even play the part of ring bearer or doggy guard of honour.

Following the nuptials and once the reception begins, pups can relax in their owner’s hotel room after playing their part in the ceremony. They can also enjoy room service with the happy couple the next morning.

Slaley Hall recognises that the concept of having dogs around on couples’ special day is becoming an increasingly popular trend, with no signs of slowing down in 2018.

Jo Gregory, wedding & special events executive at Slaley Hall said: “We are seeing more and more requests for dogs to be involved in weddings, from playing the role of ring bearer to being best men. As it’s National Pet Month, we wanted to highlight that couples can include their beloved pets as part of their big day here at Slaley Hall.

“Having a wedding without him or her might seem impossible for some couples as many look at their dog like one of the family, however, we are more than happy to accommodate doggy guests and can even help to give them a starring role in the ceremony on one of the biggest days in their owners’ lives.”

An Edwardian mansion set in 1,000 acres, Slaley Hall serves up an idyllic wedding venue with its serene Northumberland countryside.

It hosts bespoke weddings year-round and besides being a venue of choice, can also accommodate a wide variety of wedding needs within its resort, from golf, spa or outdoor pursuit weekends for the stag and hen parties, to a relaxing mini-moon in one of its lavish suites. Its one wedding per day policy also ensures the wedding party are the hotel’s sole focus.

Couples can also have access to its stunning grounds including a secret Ornamental Garden for their wedding photo shoot.

Other hotel facilities include two superb restaurants offering British-inspired food with a contemporary twist, made using locally-sourced produce, indulgent spa and health facilities and two sprawling championship golf courses.
