A Teesside-based business law firm has been shortlisted for two categories in this year’s prestigious North East Dealmakers Awards 2015.
Endeavour Partnership is the only Teesside firm to be nominated for Corporate Law Firm of the Year and is in the running as one of the advisors in Deal of the Year, for the second year in a row.
Partner and new head of Endeavour’s corporate and commercial department Nik Tunley, worked alongside business advisory firm Clive Owen LLP and Barclays on Visualsoft’s complex management buyout (MBO) which has been shortlisted for Deal of the Year.
Visualsoft is Stockton’s largest private company employer and with the help of Nik and his team’s legal expertise, the MBO was a huge success enabling Visualsoft’s growth to accelerate. The e-commerce agency has already employed an additional 50 staff following the deal.
Speaking about the award nominations, Nik said: “This is a testament to the quality of work we undertake here at Endeavour. We’ve been involved with two of the most significant transactions in the region over the past couple of years and we will continue to work closely with local businesses on their momentous deals.”
CEO of Visualsoft, Dean Benson, who plans to treble turnover by 2017, said: “We have a close working relationship with Endeavour Partnership as they understand our culture and vision. I cannot speak highly enough of Nik Tunley and his team and it’s great to have this talent on our doorstep in Stockton.
“I’m also extremely grateful for the valuable support provided by Barclays and Clive Owen within the MBO.”
Angus Allan, corporate finance partner of Clive Owen LLP, who negotiated and structured the transaction, said: “It was great working with Endeavour, a fellow Tees Valley business, on the Visualsoft MBO. Nik provided solid and pragmatic legal advice ensuring the deal was done as efficiently as possible.”
Aaron Clark, relationship director of Barclays, funded the transaction through a multi-million pound structured finance arrangement. He said: “We are delighted that the deal has been shortlisted for the North East Dealmakers Awards. Nik and the Endeavour team helped make the process as simple as possible. We have since fostered more of a working relationship.”
