THOUSANDS OF students shopped until they dropped last night (30 September), making the most of a whole host of deals at Sunderland’s leading shopping centre.
More than 8000 students headed to the Bridges for its annual Student Raid event, with stores throughout the mall offering discounts, giveaways and goody bags.
And along with a DJ and a whole host of competitions to keep shoppers entertained, the event also welcomed a special guest in the form of Love Island star, Anton Danyluk.
Anton finished the popular TV show in fifth place earlier this year and spent time meeting and greeting students and posing for selfies with fans at the event.
Andy Bradley, centre director at the Bridges, believes the shopping night is a great opportunity for students to get acquainted with the centre.
“Once again we are celebrating a fantastic Student Raid and our retailers truly went above and beyond with some incredibly generous deals on offer last night,” said Andy.
“The Student Raid is always great fun but this was even more the case this year, thanks to a special appearance from Anton who really created a buzz.
“We hope everyone who attended had a brilliant time and managed to grab a bargain to help them get settled in the city and we’re looking forward to welcoming them back to the centre in the future.”
A variety of stores took part in the Student Raid, including Hotel Chocolat, Topshop/Topman, River Island, Pandora, Schuh, JD Sports, EE and The Fragrance Shop.
