A SLEEK Italian style bistro will be officially opened at a Teesside care home by the Mayor of Stockton-on-Tees.

Mayor Councillor Maurice Perry will cut the ribbon at The Beeches Care Home’s new café and dining area at 2pm on Wednesday, 29th November.

The opening ceremony will be followed by refreshments in the new bistro, which has been created for residents and their visitors.

Helen Wood, home manager of The Beeches Care Home, on Green Lane, Newtown, said: “The new bistro was developed for residents and family members to meet in a more private setting than the main lounge, which is usually very bustling and busy.

“We’ve themed the bistro so it’s a fresh and inviting place to stop for a coffee and a chat.

“We’re also planning to introduce a monthly dementia café in the new year for people in our local community living with dementia.

“Anyone who would like to come along to the opening ceremony and see the new bistro is more than welcome.”
