A local artist is preparing to hold her third summer art exhibition in a historic County Durham building next week. Jane Spink will showcase her art in the Manor House in the centre of Sedgefield from 12 – 15 July. As well as exhibiting some of her latest work, Mrs Spink is aiming to complete a new painting on each day of the event and is also inviting the public to contribute to a hands on community art project when they visit.
This is the third year that Jane Spink has put on a summer art exhibition in the Old Court Room in the Manor House. The 18th Century building is at the heart of Sedgefield and is now a thriving business and events centre, and a popular venue for live music, parties and weddings. Some of Mrs Spink’s art is already on the walls of rooms in the Manor House and her work has previously been shown in Durham Cathedral, Head of Steam Railway Museum in Darlington and Hardwick Park. Visitors to next week’s exhibition can book lunch in advance from local café Toshachs by calling 01740 620297 – their order will then be delivered for them to enjoy while they are at the exhibition. The exhibition will be open from 10:00am – 4:00pm on 12, 13 and 14 July, and from 11:00am – 3:00pm on 15 July. Entry to the event is free.
