A team from local bus operator, Stagecoach North East, took the top score at a charity golf day and helped to raise almost £3,000 for Disability North.
Disability North is a regional charity providing information, advice and support to disabled people and older adults on any disability-related issues from independent living equipment to benefits advice. This year marked the 10th anniversary of the charity’s annual Golf Day, which took place at Hexham Golf Club in Northumberland.
Eight teams took to the golf club to renew rivalries but Stagecoach North East were clear winners with 88 points. The teams enjoyed breakfast rolls and hot drinks on arrival, halfway house refreshments and a hot meal afterwards in the prestigious club house of Hexham Golf Club, with stunning views of the Tyne Valley.
Caitlin Hunter, Marketing and Events Officer at Disability North, which promotes inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people, said: “Ahuge well done and thank you to all teams who participated in our annual Golf Day, and special congratulations to Stagecoach North East who were this year’s winners.
